Patara Beach

Patara is a beach which is near to Patara historical city and one of the most beautiful beaches in Turkey. It places in the Turkish city, Antalya, Fethiye.
Patara Beach is the biggest beach of Mediterrenian beaches, and one of the biggest in European beaches. It's lenght is about 18 km's and depth is respectively around 300 meters. It's sand is so thin and the wiev of the sea is amazing, so it's one of the inspirer beauty for domestic and international photographers. Also, caretta- caretta turtles gives birth at Patara Beach and because of that situation UNESCO tries to protect Patara area. Also Turkish Culture Ministery tries it's best to protect Patara beach and caretta caretta turtle's eggs. These eggs is one of the causes why tourist from all over the world come to the Patara every year. But it's very important to remember, please dont disturb these turtles because when they are disturbed they cannot give to birth and it harms to the future. İt's also strictly forbidden to lights out in beaches at night. Because caretta carettas are born at night and when they are born, they go where the light is comes from. So it's important to moon's being the only light sources at night.

Every year both domestic and foreign tourist come to the Patara. As we mentioned before, natural beauty of the beach, the lenght of beach, wind surfing and caretta caretta turtles' eggs are among the causes for why tourist is come to the Patara. The wind which effects the Patara beach is so suitable for Wind surfing so Patara Beach is one of the best places for wind surfing. Sometimes, wind surfind competitions are held in Patara at different times of the year. But, at the same time we can mention about the natural historical places at Patara. The history of the Patara dates back of around 3000 years ago and it's the hometown for some important cultures throughtout the history. So it's impossible for Patara to not have any historical places.

There are some historical places at near to Patara beach. The antique place, Temple of Apollo and Metius Modestus are in the borders of  Patara City. Tourist also come to vist these historical places at Patara. These historical places at Patara also dates back about 2500 years ago. It is also said that, Santa Claus, the Father of Christmas was born at that city, Patara. This is also one of the causes for both domestic and foreign tourist to come to vist Patara, one of the most beautiful beaches of the world.
